About Road Safety Cell
Road Safety Cell – the educational wing of Delhi Traffic Police was formed in the year 1972 with a view to educate road users regarding the proper and safe use of road and transportation and to develop the human resources who are responsive to public and are technically competent.
Infrastructure(Existing): Four Traffic Training Parks There are 4 Traffic Training Parks wherein practical knowhow regarding the safe use of road and transportation is being imparted to different categories of road users including school children. These parks simulate actual road conditions, have miniature road signs and vehicles to teach children proper methods to remain safe while on roads.

Mobile Exhibition (ME) Vans: Road Safety Cell has 2 ME vans fitted with latest gadgets and audio-visual equipment, which are displayed at prominent locations on regular basis to sensitize road users/public about importance of obeying traffic rules through audio messages and video clippings.
Initiatives of Road Safety Cell
- Regular programmes for different categories of road users especially school children.
- School road safety awareness campaigns comprising of awareness workshops, Painting, Quiz, Essay, Debate and Slogan Writing Competitions
- Visit to Traffic Training Parks by school students wherein they are imparted practical knowhow about the safe use of road and transportation, significance of road signs & marking and traffic signals, safe two wheeler riding for senior students
- Health Check –up Camps for Delhi Police personnel
- Designing of Road Safety Literature.
- Educating motorists, pedestrians at intersections by displaying mobile exhibition vans, distributing road safety literature and making announcement through PA System.
- Raahgiri Programmes
- Road Safety Awareness Summer/winter camps for school children
- Regular counseling of violators especially drunken drivers
